As members know AudioUK, both individually and through the Creative Industries Federation (CIF), has been seeking clarity from Government on short-term immigration routes into the UK from the EU from 1 January 2021.
The CIF has now its provided members with a summary of the policy guidance now available, most of which was published after the opening of the new work routes on 1 December:
- EEA nationals will be treated as Non Visa Nationals from 1 January onwards, which means they can access the T5 concession and PPE at the border: Browse: Visas and immigration – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
- T5 (Temporary Worker): Guidance on application for UK visa under T5 (Temporary Worker) – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
- Visitors: Visit caseworker guidance – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
For workers based overseas with postings in the UK, the following routes are now available:

The Government’s policy statement in July outlined that they “will continue to work with the creative sector to reform and simplify the offer for creatives coming to the UK on short-term trips”. AudioUK and the Creative Industries Federation will continue to highlight to Government the challenges and priorities on this issue.
